How PeerPeek’s website checks work

The public tools are free to use with no signup required. Each checker answers a different question. Read the result's source, scope and limits before drawing a conclusion.

Domain data and scores

The Domain Checker brings together available RDAP registration details, DNS records and a snapshot of website reachability. Registries publish different fields. A missing registration result does not prove a domain is unregistered, and the check does not determine whether it is available to buy. Reachability means the website responded during the check; it may be unavailable later.

PeerPeek's domain scores summarize selected signals shown in the report. They are PeerPeek's own explained assessments, not search rankings, proof of ownership or a certificate of safety. Read the observations behind each score.

Technology clues

The Technology Checker uses static evidence from a fetched document and response headers, without running JavaScript or launching a browser. It groups detected platforms, frameworks and services by category and shows versions when available. Some technologies leave no reliable public clue, so a missing match does not prove absence. The report notes when the check could not gather enough information.

Page tests and visitor experience

The Performance Checker offers a page-level Lighthouse lab test through PageSpeed Insights (PSI) under simulated conditions. Its scores and findings describe that run. Chrome UX Report (CrUX) field data summarizes eligible visitors' experience across the website origin over a recent period, when there are enough observations. Missing CrUX data is a normal possible outcome. It does not measure the selected page on its own. The results have different scopes and should be read separately; either request can fail.

SSL/TLS certificates

The SSL Checker inspects the certificate presented for the exact hostname on port 443. Validity dates, hostname coverage and trust against the reported CA store are separate checks. No HTTP page, redirect or certificate-embedded URL is fetched. Results are dated observations, not a website security grade; revocation is not checked.

Domain availability and registration options

The Domain Search compares registrar results for exact names. Availability is not a reservation, quoted prices are indicative, and registrar support differs. Registration terms and renewal prices are kept separate.
